Introduction

The new Zip range of DVRs has been designed with the CCTV installer and end-user in mind; it’s simple to fit and has some very useful benefits. The following is a brief synopsis but further detail is provided on the subsequent page.

Zip DVR Range

There are three models of Zip DVR, the Lite, Supa and Xtreme. Each model has 3 options, either 4, 8 or 16 HD camera channels plus additional IP cameras.

Zip DVR Analogue Formats

It has multi-video format which is compatible with HD-TVI, CVI, AHD and analogue CVBS camera modes. So if you have an older DVR that needs replacement but cameras are still working okay and are in the above video formats, the Zip DVR may be the best and most economical solution.

Zip DVR Additional IP Camera Channels

Zip DVR Hybrid or Analogue Modes

The Zip DVR has two modes, Hybrid (default) that allows you to use additional IP cameras, or DVR that if set, only allows HD and Analogue cameras only. The number of additional IP cameras that can be used depends on the pixel sizes and the model of Zip DVR selected.  The Xtreme range additionally has Record Mode Settings option for selecting 4K (8MP) default or the 5MP standard for HD analogue cameras. Alternatively using the Hybrid mode you can close analogue channels to increase resource for IP camera channels.

Zip DVR Audio Options

The Zip DVR range for HD analogue/CVBS supports one audio input for the Lite range but 4, 8 or 16 respectively for the 4, 8 or 16 channel Supa and Xtreme ranges.

In addition IP cameras connected that have an audio option included on the camera, will be in addition to the HD analogue/CVBS audio channels.

The range of alarm inputs on the Zip DVR for the Supa and Xtreme ranges is one per channel i.e 4 for 4 channel, 8 for 8 and 16 for 16 channel. These units have one output alarm. The Lite only has alarm functionality on IP cameras that have the alarm feature, which also applies additionally to the Supa and Xtreme ranges.
