Starlink Gen 3 V4 installation in a warehouse – Yesterday, I just finished installing Starlink equipment at a warehouse in my area. This work has been delayed for almost a week for several reasons. The main reason is that it’s been raining in my area recently. If it rains, Starlink installation cannot be carried out for safety reasons.
This is an article containing my experience when installing Starlink Gen 3 V4 directly at a customer’s location.
Why We Chose Starlink Gen 3 for the Warehouse?
There are currently two Starlink models available, namely Starlink Mini and Starlink Gen 3 V4.
Why did I use Starlink Gen 3 V4? Of course, because of its flexibility. Starlink Gen 3 has a separate router, so I can place the router wherever the customer wants. Unlike the Starlink Mini, which doesn’t have a separate router. The Starlink Mini router is integrated with the satellite dish.
Unboxing Starlink Gen 3
I purchased the Starlink Gen 3 V4 from a local dealer. Ordering through the official website takes quite a while. Besides the satellite dish, you’ll find several supporting devices in the box.
The main components include:
- Starlink dish
- Gen 3 router
- Adapter and power cable
- Mounting accessories
- Long Starlink cable
Compared to the previous generation of Starlink (Gen 2), the Gen 3 routers feel more modern and provide stronger wireless coverage. The weight of the satellite dish itself is also slimmer and easier to position.

Starlink Gen 3 Installation Process in Warehouse
Choosing the Best Location
When installing Starlink, the important thing you must pay attention to is the location where the satellite dish is installed. The Starlink satellite dish should face the sky and have nothing obstructing it from getting a good signal. And the perfect location that I chose when installing this was on the roof.
You can also use the Starlink app to determine the direction of the satellite dish.
Installing LAN Cable
This LAN cable is used to transmit power to the satellite dish and internet data. It’s important to note that Starlink only provides 15-meter LAN cables. Therefore, ensure the LAN cable reaches the location where the satellite dish is installed. Ensure the cable is installed neatly so that any repairs are easily accessible.
If you have more funds, you can buy a separate LAN cable with a length of 50 meters.
Starlink Satellite Antenna Installation Experience From Start to Finish
The process of installing Starlink equipment, such as a satellite dish, LAN cable, and router, takes about two hours from start to finish. The speed of the installation also depends on the location.
In this process, I directly installed the satellite dish on the roof using screws.

If your building’s roof isn’t pitched or has a cement floor, you can drill screw holes. My suggestion: If you have the funds, consider purchasing a Starlink bracket for mounting the satellite dish. Mounting a Starlink dish directly to the roof isn’t recommended, as it can be difficult to orient the dish.
I installed the LAN cable through the ceiling to make it look neat.
I installed my Starlink router on a table for easy portability. Keep in mind that the included LAN cable is limited, so make sure it reaches the router. The router’s job is to broadcast the network received by the satellite dish. Some customers assume the Starlink dish is transmitting the internet, but it’s not.
The final process of Starlink installation is device activation and network testing.

In this process, the customer selected the Roam-Unlimited package, priced at $165 per month. This package was chosen based on the remote location and its ability to provide a stable network even in unpredictable weather conditions. Starlink provides subscription plans that can be selected according to your needs. Starlink offers subscription plans that you can choose based on your needs. In network testing, the Starlink I installed provided internet speeds of over 200Mbps using a speed test tool. This rate increases after 24 hours of stable satellite signal.
Daily Warehouse Operations Using Starlink Internet
Once fully operational, the Starlink internet connection will support multiple activities simultaneously. Unlike legacy internet solutions that frequently experience interruptions, Starlink can handle large file transfers much more efficiently.
Starlink Internet is used for:
- Inventory management systems
- Security Camera
- Team communication
- Video meetings
- File synchronization
- Mobile device connectivity

Final Thoughts
The Starlink Gen 3 installation in our warehouse went very smoothly. The setup process was simple, the performance exceeded expectations, and the connection remained stable enough for daily business operations.
The biggest advantage is flexibility.
Instead of waiting months for traditional infrastructure, we were able to get high-speed internet up and running in just a few hours. For businesses struggling with unreliable connectivity in warehouse environments, Starlink Gen 3 is definitely worth considering, especially if operational speed, cloud systems, and real-time communication are critical to your workflow.
