TP-Link VIGI NVR Activation/Initialize From the Start Complete Guide

How to initialize or setup VIGI NVR from the start – Have a VIGI camera and want to display it on a monitor? Yes, you need a VIGI NVR. A VIGI NVR is a recording device that functions to display and store VIGI camera recordings. However, before using it, the VIGI NVR must first be initialized.

Step by Step Initialization of VIGI NVR From the Start

The initialization process in this guide is based on our own experience installing VIGI cameras. We’ve created this guide to help everyone understand how to initialize a TP-Link VIGI NVR.

Step 1 – Connect the NVR to the power supply. Ensure it is properly powered on, as indicated by the indicator lights on the front of the NVR.

Step 2 – Connect the NVR to the monitor using an HDMI cable.

Step 3 – Adjust the country, language, and power line frequency. For example, we’ll select Indonesia as the country, English as the language, and 50Hz as the power line frequency. Then tap the Next button.

Step 4 – Enter the new password, email and VIGI camera password and tap the Complete button.

Step 5 – Tap the Set Gesture Password button to create a pattern lock. Draw the pattern lines as desired.

Step 6 – Then tap the Manually Initialize button.

Step 7 – Select a resolution. Tap Next.

Step 8 – Internet Connection settings. Just tap Next.

Step 9 – Time Settings. Check NTP Settings and select the country that corresponds to your current one. Tap Next. Alternatively, you can set it manually.

Step 10 – In the Add Camera section, tap Next. This is because no VIGI cameras are connected to the NVR yet.

Step 11 – Initialize Hard Disk. Check the box. Tap the Initialize button. Then confirm by tapping the Initialize button. When the initialization process is complete, click the Next button.

Step 12 – In the Recording Settings section, tap the Next button. You can adjust this later.

Step 13 – Finally, in the Complete section, immediately tap the Complete button.

If you already have a VIGI camera, please add it to your NVR by going to the “Add Camera” menu. It’s important to note that once initialization is complete, you’ve written down the password. This will be used to log in to the NVR. If you forget the password, you can reset it.
