How I Installed the iVMS-4200 on My MacBook Laptop?
I haven’t tested whether the iVMS-4200 works on the latest MacBooks. Since I’m using a 2012 MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina in this guide, I can’t guarantee that the iVMS-4200 Mac will work on the latest MacBook models, such as macOS Tahoe, macOS Sequoia, macOS Sonoma, macOS Ventura, macOS Monterey, and macOS Big Sur.
Follow the steps below to download and install iVMS-4200 on Mac.
Downloading the Installation File
Open a web browser on your Mac.
Then open the link https://www.hikvision.com/
Tap the Support > Software menu.
Type IVMS in the search box and press enter or click the Search icon.
The IVMS 4200 software will then appear. Tap it to open the software download page.
Scroll down a bit and tap the IVMS-4200 for Mac tab.
Step 7 – On the Mac Software Download page, tap IVMS-4200 Mac V2.0.0.2.18. The software version will usually change with updates.

Step 9 – The download process will then begin. Wait for the IVMS 4200 Mac software file to download.
Installating IVMS 4200 on Mac
Once the download is complete, open the Download menu on your MacBook Pro to open the IVMS 4200 Mac software file. Double-click the file to extract it.
Click the extracted file.
If the IVMS-4200 V2.0.0.2.18.pkg cannot be opened window appears, tap the OK button.
Step 13 – To open the IVMS-4200 Mac installation file, open System Preferences and select Security & Privacy.
Tap the Open Anyway button on IVMS-4200 V2.0.0.2.18.pkg was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.
If another window appears, just tap the Open button.
After that, the IVMS-4200 installation process window will appear on your Mac. Simply follow the steps shown in the image below.
Select the installation location.
Entering Mac password.
The installation process is automatic.
The installation process is complete.
After the installation process is successful, delete the installation file by tapping the Move to Trash button. Or, you can select the Keep button if you don’t want to delete the IVMS-4200 Mac installation file.

Hikvision didn’t actually design the IVMS-4200 for Mac, but you can try it. My best advice is to switch to Windows. Hikvision is also running a campaign to migrate from the IVMS-4200 to Hik-Central Lite.
So, in the future, the IVMS-4200 may not be supported.
