How Do I Enable RTSP and ONVIF on My EZVIZ Camera?
You can enable ONVIF on an EZVIZ camera through the app. However, to do so, your phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera. Therefore, this cannot be done remotely. Enabling RTSP also enables ONVIF.
Follow the steps I’ve outlined below to enable ONVIF on your EZVIZ camera.
Connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network.
Open your EZVIZ app. Then log in using your registered account. On the EZVIZ application dashboard page, please select the profile menu in the upper left corner which is pictured as a profile icon.
Then, select Settings.
Select LAN Live View.
Click the Start button to scan for EZVIZ cameras on the same network.
Then a list of cameras will be displayed. Click on one of the cameras whose ONVIF function will be activated.
You’ll then be directed to a page displaying a live view of the CCTV camera. Tap the screen once and click the hexagonal (gear) icon to open settings.
On the Settings page select Local Service Settings.
The RTSP page will then appear, with the default setting still Off (gray). Tap once to enable RTSP until the button turns green.
Click Save to save the settings.
A notification window will appear. Click OK if you are sure you want to enable RTSP on the EZVIZ camera.
How I View My EZVIZ Camera From an RTSP URL Using VLC Media Player?
The standard EZVIZ RTSP URL format is:

- Admin: EZVIZ camera username; by default, the EZVIZ username is “admin”
- Verification Code: Like a password, the EZVIZ camera verification code can usually be found on the label
- @: hyphen
- Device IP: IP address of the EZVIZ camera
- 554: default port for the RTSP URL
- Streaming/Channels/101/: Camera parameters and Main Stream
To view a live feed from an EZVIZ camera in VLC, open the VLC software on your PC or laptop and enter the RTSP URL. In this guide, I’m using an EZVIZ TY1 camera with an active RTSP URL.
The camera’s IP address is 192.168.1.2.
So the RTSP URL looks like this:
rtsp://admin:JYGAKU@192.168.1.2:554/Streaming/Channels/101/ – I’ll copy this URL and paste it into VLC Media Player.
In VLC, tap File > Open Network.
Paste the RTSP URL into the field provided. Click Open. If successful, the live stream from the EZVIZ camera will appear in VLC.
