If you’ve just purchased an EZVIZ security camera, the first thing you’ll need to do is connect it to the EZVIZ App. This app allows you to view live video from the camera, receive motion alerts, manage camera settings, and access recordings from anywhere. Whether you’re using an indoor EZVIZ camera, an outdoor camera, a Wi-Fi camera, or a smart home device, the setup process is simple and only takes a few minutes.
This guide will explain how to add an EZVIZ camera to the EZVIZ App step by step.
Why You Need the EZVIZ App?
The EZVIZ App is the official mobile application for managing all EZVIZ smart devices. After connecting your camera, you can:
- Watch live video anytime
- Receive instant motion detection notifications
- Review cloud or microSD recordings
- Share camera access with family members
- Update the camera firmware
- Customize security settings.
Without adding your camera to the app, many of these features won’t be available.
Before You Start
Before adding your EZVIZ camera to the app, make sure you have:
- A stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
- The latest version of the EZVIZ App installed
- An EZVIZ account
- Your camera powered on
- The QR code or verification code found on the camera or product label.
Having these items ready will make the setup process much smoother. If you’ve lost your EZVIZ QR code, you can read our guide on how to retrieve a lost EZVIZ camera QR code.
How to Add EZVIZ Camera to EZVIZ App?
Connect the EZVIZ camera to a power source. Ensure the blue LED on the CCTV is flashing blue. If the blue LED isn’t flashing and is flashing red, please reset the camera first.
Connect your smartphone to a WiFi network.
Open the EZVIZ app.

Log in to the EZVIZ app using your registered account. If you’re already logged in, opening the app will take you directly to the dashboard.
Click the + sign on the EZVIZ app.

Tap Scan QR Code. A camera screen will appear to scan the QR code. Scan the QR code attached to the EZVIZ CCTV camera.

The Add Device process appears.

Then, the CCTV camera will be displayed based on the SN code and model name of the EZVIZ CCTV. Check the box next to Device is turned on.
Click the Next button.

You’ll then be directed to the Description page or instructions for connecting CCTV to WiFi. Click the Start button.

The Initialize device page appears. Check the box next to Please confirm that the device is not connected via an Ethernet cable and that the LED indicator is flashing blue.
Click the Next button.

On the Wi-Fi router select page, input the password of the WiFi network used or tap Change Network to use another Wi-Fi network available at the location.
Click the Next button.

If the WiFi is successfully connected to the CCTV camera, the EZVIZ CCTV camera will then emit a sound “Connecting to WiFi please wait, WiFi is connected, Platform registration is successful”.
On the Device Name and Location page click the Next button.

A message appears saying, “Platform registration complete. Welcome and enjoy using EZVIZ.” On the “Device successfully added” page, click the “Next” button.

The Change Password page appears, if you don’t need it, you can click the button to the left in the upper left corner.

You’ll then be automatically redirected to the app’s dashboard, where the newly added EZVIZ CCTV camera will appear. Tap it to start the live view from the EZVIZ CCTV camera.
