How to apply unbind Imou cameras from old accounts – Do you have an Imou camera that won’t add to your account? Or does scanning the QR code give you the error message “Sorry, your device has been bound by email address”? This is a sign that your Imou camera needs to be unbinded before it can be added to a new account.
Those of you who don’t understand how to unbind, can read the complete guide below to apply unbinding of the Imou camera device.
Steps to Imou Camera Apply to Unbind
Step 1 – Prepare the Imou camera you want to unbind.
Step 2 – Open the Imou Life app.

Step 3 – Log in to the Imou Life app using your registered account. If you’re already logged in, you’ll be redirected to the dashboard when you open the app.
Step 4 – Tap the “+” sign in the top right corner.

Step 5 – Tap Scan QR Code.

Step 6 – A notification page will then appear stating that the CCTV camera is now connected to the old account. Tap the Apply to Unlink button.

Step 7 – Check My device is in a state of offline and tap the Next button.

Step 8 – The Authentication Code will then appear.
Write the code on a piece of paper. Check the box next to “I have handwritten the 6-digit authentication code on the paper.” Tap the “Next” button.

Step 9 – Tap the camera icon to take a photo of the label and authentication code. Make sure the QR code is clearly captured. Check “As the unlinking process occurs” and tap the “Apply to Unlink” button.

The unbind request will then be added to the queue. Wait for it to be approved.

Unbind is done when you cannot delete the manual camera from the application because you forgot the login password to the Imou Life application. Once the request is approved, as shown in the image above, the Imou camera unbinding process is complete. Users can now add their Imou camera to their new Imou Life account. The unbinding instructions above apply to almost all Imou camera models. When applying for unbind, the CCTV camera must be in a condition where it is not connected to electricity and in offline condition.
