How I Set Up My EZVIZ Camera to Record Continuously 24 Hours a Day, Every Day

EZVIZ Camera 24 Hour Recording Settings

Some EZVIZ camera users have asked me why their camera recordings are choppy. This happens because they are using motion-activated recording mode instead of 24-hour recording mode. By default, EZVIZ cameras use motion-activated recording mode. If you select this mode, the camera will only record when it detects motion in front of it. If no motion is detected, the camera will not record.

This guide I’ve written will explain Event Recording and 24-Hour Recording on EZVIZ cameras and how to enable 24-Hour Recording.

EZVIZ Camera Recording: Event Recording vs. 24-Hour Recording—Which One Should You Use?

Event Recording works the same way as Motion Recording. The camera will save video to storage if it detects motion in front of it. If there is no motion, the camera will not save any recorded video.

24-Hour Recording, a mode that instructs the camera to record continuously for 24 hours every day.

One advantage of Event Recording is that camera users can save memory card space. If an EZVIZ camera uses a 32GB memory card, in Event Recording mode, the memory card will store video for 30 days or even longer. However, when using 24-hour recording mode, the memory card will only store video for 4 to 6 days. Use the recording mode that best suits your needs. I rarely use event recording mode, because this mode doesn’t save videos in detail.

How to Set Up an EZVIZ Camera to Record 24 Hours Nonstop

To enable 24-hour recording mode, users can open the camera settings in the EZVIZ app. Please read this guide I’ve written, which is based on my own experience enabling 24-hour recording mode.

Open the EZVIZ app.

Log in to the EZVIZ application using a registered account, then you will be directed to the dashboard page.

Tap the three dots on the camera.

Select Device Settings.

In the camera settings menu, tap on the Record List menu.

In the Record List page you will see two recording modes, the default will be checked Event Recording, move the check to 24 Hour Recording mode so that the camera starts recording 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How Can I Set Up My EZVIZ Camera to Record 24 Hours a Day?

You can enable 24-hour recording mode.

Why Are the EZVIZ Camera Recordings Choppy?

This is because the user is still using event recording mode.

What Are the Benefits of Using 24-Hour Recording Mode?

The camera will store recordings indefinitely. You’ll also get more detailed video playback.

Conclusion

When selecting the 24 hour recording mode, you’ll want to use a memory card with a large capacity. The larger the card, the longer the recordings will be stored. For the record, a 32GB memory card will store 6 days of recordings for a 2 megapixel camera, and less for higher resolution cameras.

That’s a complete guide to setting up 24 hour recording on an EZVIZ camera. We hope this information is helpful, and if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section.
