A few days ago, a client contacted us after experiencing difficulties setting up their new Imou NVR, the N110W. They had already tried working with a security camera technician, but the system still wasn’t working properly. We visited the site and handled the entire setup, ensuring the NVR was fully configured and functioning as expected.
In this guide, you will learn how to setup your new Imou NVR based on hands-on experience that you can follow.
What Is an Imou NVR and Why Do You Need It?
The Imou NVR (Network Video Recorder) serves as the control center of your CCTV system. It connects your IP cameras, records footage, and allows you to monitor everything from a single location. Currently, Imou offers two NVR models: the N110W and the N118W.
Instead of relying on storing cameras with an SD Card or access only via the cloud, NVR gives you:
- Centralized video management
- Continuous recording (24/7)
- Local storage control
- More stable performance
If you plan to use several or many cameras in one location, an NVR is almost an absolute necessity so that the cameras can be displayed together on one screen such as a TV or monitor.
