How to use XMEye app on PC – Two days ago, an XMEye device user contacted me via WhatsApp and asked how to view the camera’s live feed from their computer. Even though it was late at night and time for rest, I still tried to be helpful. I recommended that the user install the XMEye app for PC. I then walked them through how to use the app.
In this guide, I’ll share how to use the XMEye app on a PC for technicians and all XMEye device users.
What is the XMEye Pro for PC?
The way to view the XMEye camera display from a computer or laptop is to install the XMEye application for PC.
XMEye for PC is a VMS software that allows you to manage devices, watch live camera feeds, play back recordings, and download videos remotely. HANGZHOU JF SOFTWARE CO., LTD—the same company that created the XMEye mobile apps for Android and iOS—developed this powerful application.

Finally, we’re getting to the point in this article: how to use the XMEye application on a PC. If you’re new to this software and have any doubts, please read this guide to the end. I’ve written this tutorial based on firsthand technical experience, and I guarantee it will work for you.
1. Add Devices
Adding a device is the first step to further utilizing this app. If you don’t have a device, you can’t proceed to the next step. You can add devices directly using your cloud ID. Devices added within the XMEye app on your PC include DVRs/NVRs or IP cameras.
Open your XMeye app. Then select the Device Manager menu.
In this guide, I’ll add a device via the device’s Cloud ID. To do this, I’ll click the Manual Add button. To use this method, the device must be online and connected to the cloud.

Enter your device’s Cloud ID data.
- Device Name: My Home
- Group: Default Group
- Login Type: Cloud ID
- Cloud ID: Your device’s Cloud ID
- Username: admin
- Password: your device password
If all Cloud ID data has been entered, then click the OK button to save the settings. Make sure the status shows Connected.

2. Live View
To open a live view of the successfully added device, click the Monitor menu on the main dashboard page and a frame display will appear. Double click on the camera name to see a live view of the camera.
This is a live view of all cameras.

3. Playback
Playback is the activity of viewing previously saved camera recordings on a DVR/NVR. To play back camera recordings in the XMEye application on a PC, follow the steps below.
Click the Playback menu.
Then, on the Playback page, select Device.

And select the name of the camera you want to play back. Next, you can adjust the time and date. Change the File type from “Time.” Once the timeline appears, play the video by pressing the Play button below the frame.
4. Downloading Videos
From the XMEye app on your PC, you can also directly download videos stored on your device remotely without using a flash drive. Below is how to download videos using the XMEye Pro app on your PC.
On the Playback page, change the type to File.
The timeline will then change to a list of files. Next to each file is a download icon. Click it to download the recorded video. The download will start automatically; wait for it to complete. The downside to downloading videos from the XMEye app on my PC is that I can’t specify the duration. The app sets the minimum duration for each video, which is one hour, and they’re quite large, averaging around 800MB.
Is the XMEye App Safe to Use on PC?
Yes, XMEye Pro for PC is safe to use.
You don’t need to worry. And make sure you download the software installation file from the official website. So far, there have been no user complaints, such as computer crashes or virus infections after using it.
XMEye Pro for PC is Free?
Yes, it’s free forever.
I have had the XMEye app installed on my computer for 5 months and it still works without any monthly fees or license fees.
No Live View After Camera Added to Software
Check your internet connection
If the live view is not available, make sure your device is connected to the internet. Check the device’s status to confirm it is online. If the device is offline, the live view will not be displayed.
Conclusion
XMEye CMS is a recommended application for device users who want to remotely view XMEye camera footage. Users can also remotely playback and download recorded videos without the need for a flash drive or visiting the location. The image display is significantly wider than viewing from a mobile phone. The guide above shows how to use the XMEye application on a PC.
