Hikvision has just launched Hik-Connect 7.0, the latest app for Hikvision security camera systems. With Hik-Connect 7, Hikvision has introduced three new AI features: AI Guardian, AI Search, and AI Assistant.
All three features are available in the latest version of the app. However, not all of them can be accessed directly in Hik-Connect 7 End User mode. Some AI features are only available in Hik-Connect 7 Team Mode. To access the full set of AI features in Hik-Connect 7, users need to register and use a Team Mode account.
In this article, I’ll show you step by step how to register for a Team Mode account in the Hik-Connect 7.0 app.
What Is the Hik-Connect 7.0 App Team Mode?
I refer to Hik-Connect Team Mode as the version of Hik-Connect that can be accessed through a web browser.
If you access Hik-Connect through a web browser without registering for Team Mode, you’ll only see a list of devices, and you won’t be able to manage them. This is an example of Hik-Connect being accessed through a web browser without a Team Mode account.
If you haven’t registered for Team Mode, you won’t be able to view the live camera feed from your connected devices.
Meanwhile, some of the AI features in Hik-Connect 7.0 are only available in Team Mode. So, if you want to use these features, you’ll need to register for a Team Mode account.
What’s the Difference Between Hik-Connect Personal Mode and Team Mode?
Personal Mode is the version of Hik-Connect designed primarily for use on mobile devices, and it comes with more limited features. Meanwhile, Hik-Connect Team Mode can be accessed from both mobile devices and a web browser, and it offers a more comprehensive set of features.
Here are the main differences between Hik-Connect Team Mode and Personal Mode.

How to Register for Team Mode in Hik-Connect 7.0 Using a Web Browser
You can register for a Team Mode account through the app or a web browser. However, in this guide, I’ll show you how to create a Hik-Connect Team Mode account directly from a web browser. I find that registering through a web browser gives you more flexibility.
First, I’ll open the Hik-Connect website.
I’ll be taken to the main Hik-Connect website. This page also provides information about the Hik-Connect 7.0 app. Then, I click the Log In button.
Log in using the username and password associated with your Hik-Connect account.
After logging in successfully, click the Create Team button.
Fill in the available fields in the Hik-Connect Team Mode registration form. Here’s what I entered:
- Team Name: cctvmanuals
- Address: Indonesia
- Time Zone: (UTC+07:00, Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta)
- Phone: Enter your phone number.
- Scene Type: There are several Scene Type options, including Store, Office, Community, Factory, Hotel, Restaurant, and Other. In this guide, I’ll select Office. You can choose the option that best fits your needs.
For Active Service, I select Video Management only, since I can add other services later from the Team Mode dashboard.
I check the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of Hik-Connect.
Click the Create button.
After you click the Create button, you’ll be taken to the Hik-Connect Team Mode page, as shown below.
Note: Once you create a Hik-Connect Team Mode account, you can’t delete it, and it will remain linked to your account. You can only switch back to Personal Mode. So, make sure you use your own Hik-Connect account when registering for Team Mode, rather than a temporary or test account.
When I published this guide on September 29, 2026, the AI features were not yet available on my Hik-Connect Team Mode account.
How to Switch from Team Mode to Personal Mode?
As I mentioned above, once you create a Team Mode account in Hik-Connect, you can’t delete it. You can only switch between modes.
To switch from Team Mode to Personal Mode:
Select Account on the dashboard.
Then, select View Personal Devices.
If you’re using the Hik-Connect app on your phone, simply tap the arrow next to the name at the top of the app to switch to Hik-Connect Personal Devices.
