Hikvision has just launched the Hik-Connect 7 app, the latest version of Hik-Connect 6. This new app incorporates AI technology designed to make live viewing and video playback easier for users. Unlike the previous version—Hik-Connect 6—which relied on a timeline requiring manual searching, Hik-Connect 7 allows users to search for video footage directly by typing keywords into a search bar.
In this article, I will explain the new menus and features available in the Hik-Connect 7 app.
What Is the Hik-Connect 7 App?
The Hik-Connect 7 app is designed to work with DVRs, NVRs, network cameras, indoor stations, doorbells, security control panels, and Hikvision’s Pyronix series devices. With Hik-Connect, you can remotely monitor your cameras in real time from virtually anywhere. Simply create an account and add your devices to get started. You can also use the app to play back recorded footage and review important moments whenever you need to.
Hik-Connect 7 was released on September 29, 2026. The app’s launch event was livestreamed on Hikvision’s YouTube channel.
One of the biggest differences in Hik-Connect 7 is its AI integration. The app has come a long way compared to previous versions. For example, it’s now easier to view live camera feeds and search through recorded footage. Honestly, the Hikvision camera app UI has come such a long way since version one.

Hik-Connect 7 is now available on both the Play Store and App Store. If you’re still using Hik-Connect 6, just update the app to get the latest version.
Getting to Know the Key Features of the Hik-Connect 7 App
Hik-Connect 7 introduces three AI-powered features:
- AI Guardian
- AI Search
- AI Assistant
AI Guardian includes features such as AI Notifications, AI Deterrence, Focus, and AI Summary. These features are designed to help provide faster and more efficient security detection. The AI Search feature focuses on AI-powered video search, including Q&A, Fusion Search, and AI Timeline, making it easier to find specific events or footage.
The third feature, AI Assistant, focuses on AI-powered tools that can act as a personal assistant for users.
The launch of Hik-Connect 7 doesn’t remove the key features that were already available in previous versions. Here are the main features that are still available in Hik-Connect 7.0.
1. Adding a Device
Of course, the option to add devices is still available in Hik-Connect 7.
This feature lets you add devices such as NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras to the app so you can access and monitor them remotely. Just like in Hik-Connect 6, you can access this feature in Hik-Connect 7 by tapping the “+” button in the app.
2. Live View
The Live View feature lets you see which Hikvision cameras are currently online and view their live feed. This feature has been available since the first version of the Hik-Connect app and has continued through version 6. Now, it’s also available in Hik-Connect 7.
To use this feature, simply tap the camera list from the connected NVR or DVR in the app.
3. Playback
Playback is also one of the key features in Hik-Connect 7.
Just like in previous versions, the Playback feature lets you replay recorded footage from your Hikvision cameras. With Hik-Connect 7, you can access your camera recordings anytime, from anywhere, right from your phone.
4. Sharing Devices
With Hik-Connect 7, you can still share your connected NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras with other users.
If you’re using a Hikvision NVR and want to share your devices with family members, the Device Sharing feature makes it easy to give them access to specific devices or cameras. For example, if you have eight cameras but only want to share two of them with your wife, you can easily do that through the Hik-Connect 7 app.
Update: New Features Coming to the Hik-Connect 7 App
When I opened the Hik-Connect app, I received a notification on the main dashboard inviting me to preview the new look and features coming to Hik-Connect 7. After opening it, I found that there are four main features coming to the app:
- New Sidebar
- AI Notification
- Daily Summary
- AI Video Q&A
The main navigation will move to the side of the app. You can open it by tapping the icon in the top-left corner or simply swiping to the right.
The AI Notification settings let you customize notifications based on what you want to be alerted about. For example, if you want to receive a notification whenever someone wearing black comes to your house, you can simply type, “Notify me when you detect a man in black,” in the provided field. Then, whenever the camera detects someone wearing black, a notification will be sent to the app.
The Daily Summary feature gives you a detailed overview of everything that happened in front of your camera over the past 24 hours.
On the playback page, you’ll find the AI Video Q&A feature. You can ask questions in the provided field, such as, “What happened today?” The app will then give you an answer like, “A man wearing black was sitting in front of your store door last night.” Along with the text response, it will also show you the video clip of when the event occurred.
Unfortunately, not all of the new features are available in the Hik-Connect 7 End User app. Some of the AI features listed below are only available in Team Mode.
