How I Share My Hikvision Camera on Hik-Connect with Another Phone Quickly and Securely

A Hikvision guide that new users are always looking for is how to connect a camera to another phone so they can view the feed together. You can share your Hikvision camera with others using the Device Sharing feature in the Hik-Connect app. Once the Hikvision camera is shared with another person’s phone, that person can view the same video feed on their phone.

This guide I’ve written will explain how to share your Hikvision camera with another phone, as well as tips for keeping your privacy secure.

Share Your Hikvision Camera Only With Family Members and People You Know

You can share your Hkvision camera with anyone.

However, you should understand that sharing the device will give that person 24-hour access to your camera. They’ll see the same video feed that you do. Therefore, make sure to share access to your Hikvision camera only with family members or people you know and trust.

Next, make sure the camera you’re sharing is one that’s installed in a public area, such as your yard or another outdoor location.

Preparing to Share Hikvision Camera Access with Someone Else’s Phone

Device sharing is only possible between Hik-Connect apps.

Both your phone and the other person’s phone must have the Hik-Connect app installed. You must also have a Hik-Connect account. Alternatively, you can use the HiLookVision app, which runs on the same server as Hikvision.

Steps to Share Access to a Hikvision Camera with Someone Else’s Phone

Please follow the guide I wrote below based on my personal documentation for sharing devices in the Hik-Connect app.

Open the Hik-Connect app.

Log in using your registered account. If you’re already logged in, opening the app will take you directly to the app dashboard.

Tap the three dots on the device you want to share.

Tap Share.

Select Share with User.

Enter the email address or phone number of the other account that will receive the device. Tap the email address form and enter the email address of the other account as the recipient of the device.

Add email Address.

Tap Save icon.

The email address you entered will automatically appear in the device’s recipient list. Tap the Next button.

Enter the number of CCTV cameras that other users can view. Set this as needed. Here, we’ve chosen to allow other users to see all CCTV cameras.

Tap the Next button.

Set permissions. Here, you can set other users’ access rights. For example, users can only view CCTV footage and cannot play back footage. Set these settings as needed.

If so, tap the OK button.

Open the Hik-Connect app on another phone. If the notification “You have 1 new sharing” appears, tap the View Now button and then tap Accept. The shared device will automatically appear on the dashboard.

Tap the left sign to return to the dashboard.

Final Thoughts

Sharing a Hikvision device through the Hik-Connect app is one of the easiest ways to give secure camera access to family members, coworkers, or clients.

From my own experience installing and managing Hikvision systems, using the built-in sharing feature is much safer than sharing a single account with multiple people. It also gives you better control over who can view your cameras and what actions they are allowed to perform.

If you carefully manage user permissions and review shared accounts from time to time, Hik-Connect provides a convenient and secure way to monitor your security system together with people you trust.
