Ho to apply to unbind TP-Link VIGI camera – Are you getting the error message “Failed! The device is bound to another TP-Link ID”? If so, you’ll need to request an unbinding. Requesting an unbinding for a VIGI camera is the same as removing the camera from the old account so it can be connected to the new account. In our experience, there are several ways to request an unbinding for a VIGI camera.
Below is a guide that we created accompanied by images for applying to unbind the TP-Link VIGI camera.
VIGI Camera Unbind Via TP-Link ID
The first way to unbind your VIGI camera is to open the About Me page in the VIGI app. In this menu you will find the Unbinding Device menu which can be used to request device unbinding.
Step 1 – Open the VIGI application and log in using your registered account.

Step 2 – Tap Me Page and select Unbind Device.

VIGI Camera Unbind Via Device Settings
The second method, you can request to unbind the VIGI camera using the device settings menu, also located within the app. In this menu, you will find a Remove Device button to unbind.
Step 1 – Open the VIGI application and log in using your registered account.

Step 2 – Tap the colon on the camera and More Settings.

Step 3 – In the settings page, scroll down and tap the Remove Device button to unbind.

VIGI Camera Unbind Via Email
This third method can be used to request an unbinding of your VIGI camera if you can’t log in to the VIGI app due to forgetting your password. You can submit an unbinding request via email. To do this, you can send device data, such as the serial number and camera model found on the label to TP-Link’s technical support email.
TP-Link’s technical support email address is support.smb@tp-link.com (USA/SMB) or support.id@tp-link.com (Indonesia).

Then, wait for a reply email from the technical support team regarding your device unbinding request. Response time depends on the queue.
Conclusion
So, based on our experience, there are three ways to request an unbinding of a VIGI camera. First, go to the Unbind Device feature on the “Me” page, then use the “Remove Device” button on the settings page, and finally, submit an unbinding request to TP-Link’s technical support team. We’ve tried all three methods and they work.
