My V380 Pro CCTV Camera Won’t Connect to My Phone—It’s Stuck on “Connecting”—How Do I Fix V380 Pro CCTV Connection Problem?

V380 Pro CCTV Camera Stuck on Connecting Screen

On August 19, 2026, I received a call from one of my customers who uses a V380 Pro WiFi camera. The customer reported that the camera installed on the side of their house was malfunctioning—it wouldn’t open on their phone and was stuck on “connecting.” My customer suspected that the power cable was damaged, so they unplugged the camera from the power source before I arrived at their home to inspect it.

This article describes my experience fixing a V380 Pro camera that wouldn’t open on my phone and kept showing the “connecting” status.

Rescheduling a Customer Home Visit for the Following Day

The visit I was supposed to make on August 20, 2026, had to be postponed by one day. And on August 21, 2026, I was finally able to visit the customer’s home. The location isn’t very far from my base camp; it only takes about 15–20 minutes to get to the customer’s home.

Fortunately, the customers didn’t mind the one-day delay.

Once I arrived at the customer’s home, I immediately tried to open the malfunctioning V380 Pro camera app on his phone. And sure enough, the camera wouldn’t open—it just displayed the message “Connecting.” I also checked where the V380 Pro’s camera was mounted.

Here Are the Things I Did to Try to Fix This V380 Pro CCTV Camera

First of all, since the power cord connected to the camera had been unplugged from the power source, I plugged it back in. The V380 Pro camera at this customer’s home is a V380 Pro camera shaped like a light bulb. The camera is plugged directly into the light fixture’s outlet.

Once the power was connected, the camera turned on.

From beneath the camera, I heard the camera make sounds: “Connecting to WiFi,” “Please Wait,” and “Camera is Connecting.” Based on this, my initial conclusion is that the camera can connect to WiFi, but it won’t open on my phone. After waiting, a “Connection Failed” message appeared instead.

V380 Pro CCTV Camera Connection Failed

One reason the V380 Pro camera behaves this way is usually due to the memory card.

So, I removed the memory card from the camera. Then I restarted the camera. But nothing changed. The V380 Pro camera still displays the “connecting” status shown above when opened in the app.

So I took the initiative to reset the camera.

Since the camera is within easy reach, I didn’t need a ladder. You can reset the V380 Pro camera by inserting a small object into the hole on the camera. Insert it and hold it there until you hear a sound indicating the reset was successful. After the camera rebooted, I connected the V380 Pro to WiFi and heard a notification that the camera had successfully connected to the WiFi network.

As a result, the camera still couldn’t be accessed on the customer’s phone.

Inspection Results—This V380 Pro Camera Is Totally Broken

Based on the results of my inspection, I conclude that the V380 Pro camera is damaged and cannot be repaired.

If the damage to the V380 Pro camera is caused by a hardware issue, I can most likely repair it by replacing the damaged component. However, if the camera system itself is damaged, I won’t be able to repair it. To replace a damaged component, I usually take a working part from another V380 Pro camera, since V380 Pro camera parts aren’t available on the market.

I also suggested that the customer replace the camera with a new one.

The Camera Cannot Be Opened, But the Camera Status Shows as “Online” on the Dashboard

The camera can’t be opened, but its status is “Online.”

This issue is a major concern for me.

There are actually many users of the V380 Pro camera. It’s also affordably priced. In my area, the cheapest V380 Pro model sells for $8.43 and has a 2-megapixel resolution. However, the product’s quality cannot be guaranteed. For example, as in this case: the camera appears on the online dashboard, but when you try to open the live view, all that appears is the message “connecting.”

The V380 Pro CCTV camera is showing as online on the dashboard page.

The V380 Pro Camera Won't Open on My Phone

After I tried leaving the camera on for a longer period of time, I found that it kept restarting continuously at intervals of about 15 to 20 minutes.
