EZVIZ camera won’t connect to Wi-Fi after a firmware upgrade – If your EZVIZ camera suddenly stops connecting to WiFi after a firmware upgrade, you are not alone. This is a common issue that many users experience after updating the device software. In most cases, the problem is related to network interruption, incomplete firmware installation, or incorrect configuration after the update.
This guide I wrote will provide you with information on how to solve the problem of EZVIZ cameras can’t connect to WiFi after a firmware upgrade.
Why EZVIZ Camera Fails to Connect to WiFi After Firmware Update
Every EZVIZ camera model will receive firmware updates.
Firmware updates aim to improve performance and security. However, if an error occurs during the process, it may temporarily affect network connectivity.
In my experience troubleshooting EZVIZ cameras, I have seen cases where the firmware update appeared to fail, but the device had actually installed the latest version successfully. After the update, the camera could no longer reconnect to WiFi until additional troubleshooting steps were performed.
How to Fix EZVIZ Camera Not Connecting to WiFi After Firmware Upgrade?
I wrote this guide after receiving a WhatsApp message from an EZVIZ H8c camera user. They said their camera wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi after a firmware update. They also explained that during the firmware update, the update displayed a failed message, but the firmware was updated to the new version.
The next day I visited the customer’s house.
As a technician, I also perform initial inspections. Here are the initial steps I take when called to repair an EZVIZ camera.

- Checking the power adapter
- Check the indicator light, if the light is red then the EZVIZ camera must be reset
- WiFi network check
Then I tried reconnecting the EZVIZ camera to the app. Before reconnecting the camera to the app, make sure you reset the camera first. Then, delete the device from the app to avoid errors during the reconnection process.
During the process, a message saying “Network unstable” was heard. The process stopped at 90 percent.
With this, the problem was discovered.
So, the main issue with the camera not connecting to Wi-Fi after updating the firmware was the Wi-Fi network not being able to reach the area where the camera was installed. Then, I tried connecting the camera to the app using my hotspot, and the camera connected fine.

If the camera won’t add to the app and says “Verification Code Incorrect,” you’ll need to reset it first. The incorrect verification code appears because the code was changed when the camera was first added to the app.
Conclusion
EZVIZ not being able to connect to Wi-Fi after a firmware update isn’t always caused by a firmware failure. Based on the troubleshooting experience described, the primary cause is inadequate Wi-Fi network quality or coverage at the camera’s installation location. Even if the update process fails, the firmware has actually been updated. Therefore, if EZVIZ cannot connect to Wi-Fi after a firmware update, users should check the Wi-Fi signal strength, reset the device, remove and re-add the camera in the app, and try another network to determine the source of the problem.
