Has anyone ever seen the “The Device is Locked” message in the EZVIZ app? When you click on it, a field appears for entering the encryption password. This is one of EZVIZ’s camera security features. It ensures the camera cannot be accessed on another phone until the user enters the verification code—also known as the encryption password. Actually, you can find this encryption password on the camera’s label. However, if you want to make the camera more secure, you can change it.
In this article, I’ll explain how to change the encryption password on an EZVIZ camera to improve the camera’s security.

EZVIZ camera not recording, displays a Storage Media Exception or Abnormal message – Ezviz cameras are reliable for home and office security, but like all devices, they can occasionally run into problems. One common issue users face is the storage media exception or abnormal error. This typically occurs when the camera cannot properly read or write to its SD card or internal storage. Fortunately, the fix is usually straightforward.
In this guide, we’ll cover what causes this problem and the step-by-step methods to resolve it quickly.
Everyone may want some privacy at certain times. For example, if you install a camera in a sensitive area, such as a bedroom, you’ll want the camera to stream and record when you’re away from home at work. However, when you’re at home, you’ll want the camera to stop streaming and recording. By enabling the sleep mode feature, you can set up a scenario like that.
In this guide, I’ll explain how to enable sleep mode and show examples of what the camera display looks like when sleep mode is enabled.
EZVIZ cameras have an excellent security system. One of their security features is an encryption password. This prevents the camera from being accessed on another phone until this encryption password is entered. By default, the EZVIZ camera’s encryption password is enabled. If you share the camera with another phone, the app will typically display “The Device is Locked.” If the recipient does not enter the encryption password, the camera cannot be accessed.
If you find this feature annoying, you can disable it through the camera settings in the EZVIZ app. In this article, you’ll find instructions on how to disable the EZVIZ camera’s encryption password.
The EZVIZ H8c 4G camera relies on a cellular network. As a result, its setup is slightly different from that of EZVIZ cameras that use a Wi-Fi network. EZVIZ 4G cameras generally do not support direct connection to a Wi-Fi network, unless the camera has an RJ45 port that can be used to connect directly to an internet router.
In this guide, I’ll explain how to set up the EZVIZ H8c 4G camera and connect it to your phone.
How to retrieve a lost EZVIZ camera verification code – The EZVIZ camera verification code serves as a critical security credential. It also functions as the device’s default password. If this verification code is lost or unavailable, you may encounter difficulties when attempting to connect the EZVIZ camera to external systems—such as an NVR—or when accessing its live stream via an RTSP URL.
Below is a comprehensive guide on how to recover the verification code for a lost or inaccessible EZVIZ camera.
If your EZVIZ camera image is glare-affected, it doesn’t mean the camera is malfunctioning. Most of these issues are caused by incorrect installation. EZVIZ cameras are sensitive when mounted facing an exit. If the room is dark and the area outside the door is brighter, this causes the camera’s view to be affected by glare. EZVIZ customers often report this issue to us.
In this article, I’ll explain the easiest way to fix the issue of the EZVIZ camera feed appearing glare in the app.
I rarely change the IP address of my EZVIZ camera to a static one, unless I want to connect it to a DVR or NVR. This is because if an EZVIZ camera is connected to a DVR or NVR without changing its IP address to a static one, the IP address will keep changing, causing the camera’s connection to the DVR or NVR to be lost. You’ll then have to reconfigure the camera using the new IP address. However, if the EZVIZ camera isn’t connected to any other devices, there’s no need to set the IP address to static.
For those of you looking for a way to set the EZVIZ camera’s IP address to static, this article I’ve written will explain the process in detail.
Can recordings stored on an EZVIZ camera be deleted? Yes, you can delete stored recordings at any time. Deleting a recording means you will no longer be able to play it back. Once a recording is deleted, the camera will start recording again from the current time. Permanently deleted recordings cannot be recovered. If you have any important recordings, be sure to back them up first before deleting them.
In this article, I’ll show you the steps to properly delete recordings stored on an EZVIZ camera.
