Some users have asked me whether EZVIZ cameras can be connected to Hikvision DVRs and NVRs. The answer is yes. As a Wi-Fi camera, EZVIZ also has an IP address that can be used for communication between devices, just like most IP cameras. So, you can use that IP address to connect the camera to a Hikvision NVR or DVR and view the footage.
In this guide I’ve written, you’ll see how I connect an EZVIZ camera to a Hikvision NVR or DVR.
EZVIZ and Hikvision Cameras Use the Same Protocol
For those who don’t know, EZVIZ is a sub-brand of Hikvision.
Therefore, EZVIZ cameras can be connected to Hikvision recorders without having to configure the protocol. So when connected to an NVR or DVR, the protocol used is the Hikvision protocol, not ONVIF. For this reason, in addition to being able to connect to the EZVIZ app, EZVIZ cameras can also be connected directly to the Hik-Connect app.
How I Connected My EZVIZ Camera to a Hikvision DVR?
Before connecting, make sure the EZVIZ camera and DVR are on the same network. Also, ensure that the ONVIF feature on the camera is enabled. This is simply a prerequisite. If the EZVIZ camera is connected to an NVR from another brand, the protocol used is ONVIF.

Turn on the DVR
Right click on the screen display on the DVR/NVR and select Menu.
Log in using your username and password. Or log in using the pattern you created earlier.
Select Settings > Camera > Camera. The Online Device List will display the detected EZVIZ cameras.
Check the camera and tap the “+Add” button.
The camera will move to the top. The status is still marked red, indicating the camera is not connected to the DVR/NVR. Tap the pencil icon to change the parameters.
Enter camera password. Then tap OK.
If the status changes to green, it indicates that the EZVIZ camera has been successfully connected to the Hikvision DVR/NVR.

Common Problems and How to Fix Them
If you follow the guide I wrote above carefully, the chances of failure are very low. So if you do fail, take another look at the common issues listed below.
EZVIZ Camera IP Address Not Detected
Make sure both devices, DVR and EZVIZ camera, are connected to the same network, either using a LAN cable or a Wi-Fi network.
Make sure the EZVIZ camera has ONVIF features.
Incorrect Password and Username
Reset the camera credentials
The default username for EZVIZ cameras is “admin,” and the password is the verification code printed on the label. If these credentials do not work, it usually means that the password or verification code has been changed. Please reset your EZVIZ camera to restore the camera’s settings to factory defaults and restore the default password.
