I Can’t Unbind HiLook NVRs, DVRs, and IP Cameras Using the SADP Tool—What Should I Do?

Can’t Unbind HiLook DVR Using SADP Tools

Support for the SADP Tool is no longer what it used to be when the software was first launched. Some operations that were previously possible in this software can no longer be performed, such as “unbind.” Unbind is the process of separating HiLook devices—such as NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras—from a Hik-Connect account. Certain models of NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras can no longer use the SADP Tool for unbind; this functionality has been moved to another application.

In this post, I’ll provide a guide for those of you who were unable to unbind using the SADP Tool software.

The Process for Unbinding HiLook Devices Has Been Moved to the Hik-Partner Pro App

Actually, there are four methods that I know of—and have tried myself—to unbind NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras.

  • SADP Tool
  • HiTools Delivery
  • Hik-Partner Pro
  • Directly from the NVR and DVR settings

Using the SADP Tool is usually successful for older device models for which the software was released. As for HiTools Delivery, its functionality is the same as that of the SADP Tool; if a device cannot be unbound using the SADP Tool, it generally cannot be unbound using HiTools Delivery either.

Using the Hik-Partner Pro app is a surefire way to succeed.

Some HiLook NVR and DVR models have an “unbind” button in their settings. Users can unbind devices by pressing that button.

How Do I Unbind a HiLook DVR Using Hik-Partner Pro?

Requirements

  • Phones with the Hik-Partner Pro app installed
  • DVR label photo
  • DVR QR code photo from SADP Tool

Steps for the Unbind Process Using the Hik-Partner Pro App

Open the Hik-Partner Pro app. Log in to the application using a registered and verified account.

Select Toolkit > Online Support Case.

New Case.

Device Unbinding.

Select Other method for remote unbinding or select LAN Device if the phone and DVR are on the same network.

Complete the request by uploading a photo of the DVR label and scanning the QR code from the SADP Tool sent by the user. Tap the Confirm button to submit the request.

Then wait for a response from Hik-Partner Pro APp.

If the unbinding request is approved, a response will appear: “Dear customer, the device has been unbound. Thank you for your support of Hikvision.” The DVR is now unbound from the old account and can be added to a new Hik-Connect or HiLookVision account.

Conclusion

If you can’t unbind your HiLook DVR, the most effective solution in 2026 is to use Hik-Partner Pro. This solution is faster, more secure, and fully compliant with the latest security policies. However, please note that not all Hik-Partner Pro accounts can use remote unbinding access; only verified accounts can. Hik-Partner Pro can also be used to remotely unbind Hikvision IP cameras.

Remotely unbinding a HiLook DVR using Hik-Partner Pro is a safe and fast process. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section.
