The new Hik-Connect 7 was just launched on September 29, 2026. The app offers the same basic features as the previous version, Hik-Connect 6, such as live viewing and playback. However, Hik-Connect 7 takes things a step further by integrating AI-powered features into the app.
In my testing, I found that Hik-Connect 7 now supports text-based commands for searching through recorded footage, similar to DeepSeek.
Download and Install iVMS-4200, the Hik-Connect App for PC
Hik-Connect is primarily designed for mobile devices and does not have a dedicated PC version.
Hikvision device users who want to view their camera footage from a computer can use iVMS-4200 or the newer Hik-Central Lite. Both software solutions allow you to view live camera feeds, play back recorded footage, and manage your devices. Keep in mind that iVMS-4200 and Hik-Central Lite is only compatible with Hikvision and HiLook devices.
So, to be clear, there is no official Hik-Connect PC version.

Install iVMS-4200
Please go to the download folder on your computer and double-click on the iVMS-4200 (V3.14.0.6_E).exe file. The Installation Wizard page will then appear. First, check the box next to “I Agree to the terms in the Software License Agreement” and click the “Next” button.
I followed the recommended features to be installed. The installation location is C:\Program Files (X86)\iVMS-4200 Site. Click the Install button.
The installation process will run automatically, taking approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
Click the Finish button when the Installation Completed page appears. This indicates that the iVMS-4200 software has been successfully installed on your Windows PC and is ready to use.
Set Up iVMS-4200
Open the iVMS-4200 software.

Installing the Hik-Connect 7 App on a PC Using an Android Emulator
If you still want to run the Hik-Connect 7 app on your PC, you can use an Android emulator. An emulator allows you to run Android apps directly on your PC. In this guide, I’ll show you how to install and run the Hik-Connect app using an Android emulator. The Android emulator I use is BlueStacks.
I opened the BlueStacks emulator.
Then I opened the Play Store and typed “Hik-Connect” into the search bar and I clicked the Install button for the Hik-Connect app.
Wait for the Hik-Connect app to finish installing. Once the “Open” button appears, Hik-Connect has been successfully installed on your PC. You can then open the app and log in with your Hik-Connect account.
For Mac users, you must use a Mac with a Silicon processor, such as the M series, because BlueStacks version 5 no longer runs on Macs. BlueStacks version 4 can still run on Macs with Intel processors, but the Android version in BlueStacks 4 is version 7, and the Hik-Connect 7 app only supports Android version 8 or later.
iVMS-4200 vs. Hik-Connect 7: Which One Is Better?
Hik-Connect 7 works great when installed on a smartphone. All of its features will function properly. However, if you install it on an emulator and your PC or laptop has limited memory, the Hik-Connect 7 app will run slowly or stutter. This is because emulators require a lot of memory to run.
If you use the iVMS-4200 and Hik-Central Lite, your Hikvision cameras will perform better.
iVMS-4200 and Hik-Central Lite are designed for PCs and laptops. Mac users can use iVMS-4200, while Windows users can use Hik-Central Lite. As of the time of writing, Hik-Central Lite is not available for Mac devices, whether they use Intel processors or Apple Silicon processors such as the M1, M2, and so on.
