The appearance of an ‘Offline’ error message on the V380 Pro app is nothing new to me. As a CCTV camera technician, I come across problems like this quite often. In some of the cases I’ve encountered, this isn’t caused by a faulty camera, but rather by issues with the internet connection, cables or the power adapter. The ‘Offline’ message that appears means you cannot view the camera’s live feed.
This article will explain the causes of the ‘Offline’ status displayed for the V380 Pro camera in the app and how to resolve the issue.
What Does the ‘Device Offline’ Message on the V380 Pro Camera Mean?
There are several reasons why the ‘Offline’ message may appear in the V380 Pro app. Therefore, before attempting to resolve the issue, you should identify the cause. Below, I have outlined some of the causes and how to resolve the ‘Offline’ issue with the V380 Pro camera in the app.
Several factors can cause this problem.
1. Weak Wi-Fi Signal
A weak wireless signal is one of the most common reasons.
If the camera is installed too far from the router or separated by thick concrete walls, the connection may become unstable.
Signs
- Live view loads forever
- Camera disconnects randomly
- Works only when close to the router
Solution
- Move the camera closer to the router.
- Install a Wi-Fi extender if necessary.
- Avoid placing the camera behind metal objects.
2. Router Lost Internet Connection
Sometimes the camera is connected to the router, but the router itself has no internet access.
Solution
- Restart your modem.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
- Check whether other devices can access the internet.
- Wait a few minutes after restarting before checking the camera again.
Official V380 troubleshooting also recommends restarting both the camera and router and verifying that the router has internet access before attempting more advanced fixes.
3. Camera Lost Wi-Fi Configuration
A power outage or router replacement may erase or invalidate the stored Wi-Fi settings.
This often happens after:
- Changing Wi-Fi password
- Changing router
- Switching ISP
- Factory resetting the router
Solution
Reconnect the camera to your Wi-Fi using the V380 Pro app.
4. Connected to 5 GHz Wi-Fi
Many V380 Pro cameras support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
If you attempt to connect the camera to a 5 GHz network, it may never come online.
Solution
Use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during setup. Current V380 documentation notes that standard Wi-Fi models support 2.4 GHz rather than 5 GHz.
5. AP Isolation Is Enabled
Some routers enable AP Isolation or Client Isolation by default.
When enabled, devices connected to the same Wi-Fi cannot communicate with each other.
Solution
Log into your router settings and disable:
- AP Isolation
- Client Isolation
- Wireless Isolation
The official V380 support documentation specifically recommends disabling AP Isolation when the camera appears offline on the local network.
6. Firewall or MAC Filtering
Advanced router security features may block the camera.
Examples include:
- MAC Address Filtering
- Blacklist
- Device Control
- Firewall Rules
Solution
Temporarily disable these features and reconnect the camera.
7. Power Supply Problem
An unstable power adapter can repeatedly restart the camera.
Symptoms include:
- Camera clicks repeatedly
- LED flashes continuously
- Camera disconnects every few minutes
Solution
Use the original power adapter or a compatible adapter with the correct voltage and current rating.
Reconnecting the Camera to Wi-Fi Is the Most Recommended Solution
Open your V380 Pro app.
Make sure the V380 Pro camera adapter is connected to a power source. The USB port on the CCTV camera is also securely connected.

Check that the CCTV camera is connected to Wi-Fi. A sign that the V380 Pro CCTV camera is connected to Wi-Fi is that when it’s first turned on, it will display a sound like “Network Connected.”
The sign that the V380 Pro CCTV camera is still on is that the infrared LED is on.

Make sure the Wi-Fi name and password haven’t been changed. Changing the Wi-Fi name and password will also cause the V380 Pro camera to lose internet access.
Installing CCTV too far from the Wi-Fi router can also cause the device to display an offline message. It’s recommended to install the V380 Pro CCTV no more than 10 meters from the Wi-Fi router in an open space.
If the camera is installed too far away, it will be difficult for the camera to connect to Wi-Fi.

Final Thoughts
The “Device is Offline” message on a V380 Pro camera is usually caused by Wi-Fi connectivity, router configuration, internet availability, or incorrect network settings rather than a defective camera.
By following the troubleshooting steps in this guide—checking power, restarting devices, verifying your Wi-Fi, reconnecting the camera, and performing a factory reset only when necessary—you can resolve most offline issues without replacing the camera.
If the problem persists after completing every step, the issue may be related to hardware failure or an incompatible network configuration. In that case, contacting your seller or the official V380 support team is the next recommended step.
