How I Changed the IP Address of My Hikvision NVR to a Static Address—It Turned Out to Be Very Easy

How to Change the IP Address on Hikvision DVR/NVR

After returning from the Hikvision CCTV camera installation site at the coal mine, I forgot to set the NVR’s IP address to a static one. As a result, when the internet connection was lost, the NVR’s IP address reverted to its default setting. This also caused the IP cameras connected to the NVR to disappear from the screen. Finally, I returned to the mine site to set the Hikvision NVR’s IP address to a static one.

This is my experience with changing the IP address of a Hikvision NVR to a static address so that the camera connection doesn’t get disconnected anymore.

My Imou Camera Is Showing a Glare When Facing the Window—What Should I Do? Here’s the Solution

Enable WDR Functions on Imou Camera

Imou cameras are sensitive to excessive light reflections. If an Imou camera is mounted facing a door or window, it will display a glare. This is usually caused by incorrect installation. Try not to install the Imou camera so that it faces directly toward the entrance or a window. Or avoid installing it so that it faces a light source. Instead of pointing it outward, it’s best to reposition it to face inward.

However, if the camera is already installed and you’re having trouble moving it, here’s a solution to reduce glare in the Imou camera’s video feed..

I Disabled the EZVIZ Camera’s Encryption Password So I Can More Easily Share the Camera with Another Phone

How to Disable EZVIZ Camera Encryption Password

EZVIZ cameras have an excellent security system. One of their security features is an encryption password. This prevents the camera from being accessed on another phone until this encryption password is entered. By default, the EZVIZ camera’s encryption password is enabled. If you share the camera with another phone, the app will typically display “The Device is Locked.” If the recipient does not enter the encryption password, the camera cannot be accessed.

If you find this feature annoying, you can disable it through the camera settings in the EZVIZ app. In this article, you’ll find instructions on how to disable the EZVIZ camera’s encryption password.

How I Set Up My Imou Camera to Record 24 Hours Nonstop—So the Playback Isn’t Choppy

Imou Camera 24 Hour Recording Settings

A common complaint from Imou camera users is choppy playback. This happens because the user hasn’t enabled 24-hour recording mode. By default, Imou cameras record video based on motion or events that occur in front of the camera. For example, this includes people, vehicles, or animals passing by. If the camera doesn’t detect any motion in front of it, it won’t record anything. As a result, the playback appears choppy.

Setting up your Imou camera to record 24 hours a day is easy—you can do it from the camera settings in the app.
